Got It is a real-time online marketplace that connects students who are stuck on a homework problem with Study Experts, who can help the student become unstuck, by walking them through a step-by-step explanation to their problem.
Got It has a fundamentally new approach to traditional tutoring. We believe that a 10-minute discussion on almost any problem, captured as a photo, is a great format for both a student and an Expert to really dive into an explanation of a problem. And since Got It is an on-demand marketplace, this also creates jobs for math and science educated graduates all over the world who love to teach!
Becoming a Study Expert is a great way to earn extra money in your spare time. Some work with us only a few hours per week while others work closer to full time. There are no scheduled hours or minimum hourly requirements, and as a Study Expert you have the flexibility to work from wherever you like! Additionally, beyond earning extra income, many Study Experts love Got It simply because they love to teach and help others! It’s also a great way to review your math or science knowledge while practicing English with an international audience.
All explanation sessions are conducted entirely online. Additionally, all communication is done through written, text-based chat, so there is no need to worry about communicating through voice or video / Skype connections.
Simply click the “Apply Now” button to begin the application process. This will guide you through our training videos and subject tests. Once you’ve passed a subject test you’re eligible to begin working! Most new Study Experts can complete this process in about an hour.
Currently we support Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry / Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Chemistry, and Physics.
The amount you earn depends on how many explanations you provide, and there is no limit to how much you can earn in a given pay period. Typically, our Experts can earn between $2 and $10 USD per hour, depending on problem volume.
On the 1st and 15th calendar day of each month, Got It will automatically transfer your earnings in US dollars to your payment account (either Paypal or Upwork) for the credits you earned during that pay period.
The bidding system is part of Got It’s revolutionary marketplace technology. As an Expert you are free to select for how much you are willing to work on a given explanation, based on problem difficulty and time required to solve. Our marketplace technology will make the best student-Expert match based on these bids and Expert quality scores.
Got It’s model is to allow Experts to only work on problems they are comfortable with, so while you may end up working with the same student multiple times, as an Expert, you will be matched with the problem you select rather than the specific student.
One of the best parts about working with Got It is there is no need to commit to any schedule or minimum number of hours worked. Whenever you have free time, simply log on and begin working as much as you’d like!
